Woolworths Exclusive
The Challenge:
Newspaper sales had been declining at an alarming rate of about 10% per year. Some of this drastic decline is due to a shift to online editorials but the overwhelming majority is a straight loss to other free online news outlets.
The Solution:
To create a retailer exclusive promotion with Woolworths. We needed to develop a week long cross promotion to give shoppers a unique reason to pick up each day’s paper exclusively at Woolworths.
The Idea:
To attract shoppers to Woolworths and incentivise a purchase of the News LTD papers, we gave away $3,500 worth of groceries to a winning customer every day for a month.
